Die Standing or Live on Your Knees

If someone is begging at your feet…

whom you have once loved,

who has also cut your achilles from time to time to watch you painfully walk away,

to only further kick you while you were down.

Do you meet them at the knees and hope you’re one day strong enough to rise to your feet…

or Run like a mofo, like you’re physically trained to; far, far away?

Do you die standing or live on your knees?
